With an illustrious career spanning 35 years, having invested over £850,000 in honing and learning her craft while working for some of the UK’s highest selling newspapers inc Daily Mail, METRO, The Sun, Thomson Directories and Thomweb (their online version), where she got the bug for online ads way back in the year of the millennium in the year 2000.
Prior to that Corrie-Dee had cut her teeth in the newspaper sector working for a chain of national newspapers, which included training sales reps who went on to work for other titles ie Express. After graduating with an HND in Advertising and PR from Central College Of Commerce. (Now known as Glasgow City College Of Commerce). Corrie D launched Corrie D Marketing intially as a Social Media Marketing Agency, Social Media Trainer and Online Ads Specialist. Back in October 2011 and went on to win awards for social media campaigns and training in 2015 and 2017.
Corrie D had to work multiple jobs throughout her early career just to make ends meet – she also worked in The Metro Nightclub in Saltcoats for about 7 or 8 years as she’d started at the bottom and worked her way up the corporate career to becoming a Deputy manager at Daily Mail when she fell pregnant with her son. Taking a year off work to spend time with him on maternity leave she drew down funds from a flexible mortgage and released £20k so she could spend the first year of his life enjoying the new addition to the family. But had to go back to work and that was a tough but with bills and a mortgage and absent father who was unwilling to contribute she had no other option. It was heartbreaking but as a single parent tough choices & sacrifices have to be made when you work to provide as the sole bread winner sadly. Being a stay at home was not an option.

Hello! 🙂 With 35 Years experience working for some of the UK’s highest selling newspaper titles The Daily Mail, METRO, The Sun, and Thomson Directories where I got the bug for online ads way back in the year of the millennium in 2000 after graduating with an HND in Advertising & PR from Central College of Commerce, now known as Glasgow City College, rising through the ranks to become a deputy assistant manager by the age of 32.
I’ve been a trainer for decades inc attending “Train The Trainer” Certified Course when I worked at the Daily Mail. And received some of the UK’s most prestigious training from RADA while at Daily Mail and Thomsons sales training was renowned for being one of THE BEST sales training in the UK. Where I attended Fanborough for two weeks intense sales training with 98% accuracy required “daily buzz tests” to ensure your placement with a position if you failed you were off the course and sent home.
But in April 2016 my amazing son was born. That corporate job at the Daily Mail meant I’d missed all the major milestones in my sons life. His first words, his first steps, his first nativity play. I was a single parent with a mortgage and sole bread winner just a few weeks before he was due to start his first day of school I got hit with not one but two MAJOR curveballs that derailed my plans.
As a Deputy Manager it meant I had to be in the office early to help setting up the leads for the sales staff.
The government at that time offered 2 hours per day paid childcare placements but you couldn’t combine it into one day for example. I requested to work part time but that request was knocked back so I had no other option but to go to work I had a mortgage to pay. But I was hit with the news for personal reasons they could no longer take him to school.
But a few weeks before the schools were due to start I found out that I’d lost my job. The job I loved. That was a huge shock. I was inconsolable I loved my job. I was given gardening leave and 3 months in lieu of notice which meant I couldn’t go and work anywhere else so I used my time wisely. I’d always wanted to work for Google and Facebook so I embarked on a 3 month training course for both and soft launched on 15th July 2025 to get trained and officially launched on 15th October 2025.
Before launching Corrie D Marketing (initially a Social Media Marketing And Online Ads Agency, and Social Media Trainer). Which then pivoted to become Corrie D Marketing – Digital Marketing Agency. When it became apparent after client meetings when discussing landing pages for ad campaigns on our clients websites that they were either not happy with their current website or web developers and wanted me to look after this for them.
